Non Perishable Food

SHARE:

The My Brother’s Keeper Food Assistance Program has grown 22% over the past 4 years but our donations of non perishable food haven’t kept pace. Our costs are up 30% due to increased need during the recession and higher food prices.

Here’s our “Top 10 List” of the items we frequently purchase because they are always in short supply:

  1. peanut butter
  2. jelly
  3. tuna fish
  4. canned vegetables
  5. canned soup
  6. canned fruit
  7. pasta
  8. pasta sauce
  9. macaroni and cheese
  10. rice

In addition to these food items, we also need important personal hygiene items like:

  1. toilet paper
  2. paper towels
  3. diapers (all sizes)

Thanksgiving is right around the corner so our needs will be even greater over the next month. Thanksgiving deliveries from My Brother’s Keeper are extra special because we provide additional food for the whole week— not just one dinner— to provide extra meals for the kids who are home from school.

Consider running a food drive in your neighborhood with the help of this flyer.
