Restoring Our Souls

Just hours before Christmas day 2021, in the midst of the busiest week of the year at My Brother’s Keeper, we received a note from a friend named Christine that stopped us in our tracks:

I have had to call you in past years. I was alone and had nothing for my babies. You never ever made me feel bad about it. You actually restored my faith.

This powerful message resonated with so many of us because we could relate. Despite the challenges and setbacks caused by COVID-19, the grace of Jesus Christ that flows from My Brother’s Keeper has restored us time and again. Christine’s message of restoration rings true not only for those we serve, but for the entire My Brother’s Keeper community as well.

Through the support of our generous community, My Brother’s Keeper dramatically increased its services since the beginning of the pandemic. Over the past two years, we have tripled the number of annual food deliveries made and nearly doubled the number of total people served on an annual basis.

As Christine reminded us, My Brother’s Keeper has also brought much-needed restoration to our lives. In 2021 we thoughtfully and safely gathered our community for in-person events to pray together, to raise important funds to support our work, and to enjoy friendships centered on bringing the Love and Hope of Jesus Christ to those we serve.

We look forward to more opportunities to get together as a community in 2022 in service of our brothers and sisters in need. We call upon God’s grace and the help of our community to continue to bring restoration through this Christ-centered ministry called My Brother’s Keeper.
