My Brother's Keeper is a Christian ministry which delivers furniture and food free of charge to people in need. We also conduct one of the area's largest Christmas programs. We firmly believe the help we give comes from God through us so some symbol of Jesus always accompanies our service as a gift.
Here is some general information about our assistance programs:
- All services are free.
- My Brother's Keeper has no burdensome eligibility criteria. We do not ask difficult or embarrassing questions. To qualify for our help, individuals and families must simply live within our geographic service area. (Our service area varies by program.)
- All requests are processed by phone. We cannot accept e-mail requests or requests made in-person at our facility due to staffing limitations. You may need to be patient and persistent. Our assistance telephone numbers can be very busy because so many people reach out to us for help.
- My Brother's Keeper will always ask to speak directly to the person in need to get the most accurate information. We do not accept second-hand requests from family, friends, or advocates. (For example, "I'm calling for a friend who needs help.")
- Members of our staff speak English and Spanish. If you speak other languages, please call with someone present who can help translate.
- When calling for help, we will ask for the names and birthdates of all people living at your home.
- Assistance is given by delivery only— no pick-ups at our facility.
