My Brothers Keeper is a vibrant, welcoming Christian ministry in Easton, MA which delivers furniture and food to families in need. Our mission is "To bring the Love and Hope of Jesus Christ to those we serve." Anyone living in our service area in Southeastern Massachusetts is eligible to receive our help, regardless of religion. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit and all services are provided free of charge.
Then and Now. My Brother's Keeper was founded in 1988 by a husband and wife serving families in need from the basement of their home. Today, 2,500 volunteers and 6 full-time employees working from a modern 15,000 square foot operations center carry out our work. Together we complete 7,500 deliveries each year and over the past 25 years, we have made 93,000 total deliveries to assist low-income families and individuals across eastern Massachusetts.
Unique. We are the only charity in Southeastern Massachusetts providing furniture assistance free of charge as a core program. All services are delivered vitally important to those without transportation or the physical means to move heavy items.
Faithful to our Mission. As a Christian ministry, we offer a crucifix or some reminder of Christ as a gift at each delivery conveying the assistance comes from God through us.
Excellence. Because we serve in Christ's name, every donated good is checked for quality, to ensure that each item we deliver is new or in like-new condition, providing people with renewed hope and a sense of value.
Respect. We do not judge. We serve with dignity. No one seeking assistance is required to justify their need. Our delivery vehicles are unmarked to protect the privacy of those receiving our help.
Source of Funding. We depend solely on private charitable donations. No donated goods are ever sold and we accept no government support, enabling us to remain true to our mission.
Use of Funding. We work hard to be outstanding stewards. A strong community of volunteers and in-kind donations allow more than 90% of every dollar to go directly to program services. As a matter of policy, we do not accumulate funds. We believe donations should pass through us, not remain with us.
Capacity Building. We are growing tremendously! Since 2007, total deliveries have increased 50%, including 125% growth in Furniture Assistance
