Over the years, our ministry of loving service has also become a ministry of education.
Several hundred students volunteer with us each year and they're often shocked by the poverty they witness in their own community. Students come to know those we serve as individuals in need of a loving, helping hand rather than a nameless, faceless group of people called "the poor."
These young people—tomorrow's leaders—become more aware, more involved citizens committed to make our community a better place.
In addition, many parents and grandparents use service at My Brother's Keeper as a 'hands-on' way to teach the values of love and compassion to their children and grandchildren.
We host family-friendly events like our Family Walk in June and Gratitude Mass in late November to kickoff our Christmas program. These events offer families the opportunity to come together, create friendships, and learn more about our ministry and volunteer opportunities.
