A Christmas to Remember! This year, the My Brother's Keeper Christmas Program was privileged to serve 1,836 families in 59 communities!
Volunteers of all ages take a quick break from wrapping gifts for the families we serve. We have so much to be grateful for!
Our Christmas Program was filled with countless blessings and wonderful experiences that really captured the true meaning of Christmas. More than 500 people, our biggest crowd ever, attended our annual Mass of Gratitude to begin our Christmas Season.
We are proud to report that more than 1,300 volunteers assisted us in bringing the love and hope of Christ to families in need this Christmas. Of those 1,300 people, 550 volunteered with us for the first time!
We are grateful that God gave us the privilege of serving 1,836 families in 59 communities throughout eastern Massachusetts. Within those families are 4,812 children and 2,412 adults; more than 7,200 people! We served more families this year than ever before, making deliveries ranging from the North Shore down to Fall River and Cape Cod.
Most importantly, we accomplished our mission "To bring the Love and Hope of Jesus Christ to those we serve." Many letters of gratitude, such as this beautiful one from a family in Brockton, confirm that we successfully accomplished our mission.
Check back soon for more letters of gratitude from this year's Christmas Program!
A brief history of our Christmas Program
The My Brother's Keeper Christmas program began in 1991 when we had the privilege of serving 14 families in the city of Brockton. Every year this program has grown not only in the number of families that we have served, but in the number of sponsors who have donated their time, talent, and treasure. In 2006 we served 1,725 families and this year we again increased our intake to include 1,836 families!
These deliveries would not be possible without the generous sponsors who support our program. We invite you to join the many people who make Christmas wishes come true for families in need!
"Whatever
you do for the most humble of my people, you do for me."
